When a customer represents themslves to you as a reseller (a person who can resell goods and thus pay no sales tax), it is important to track this person and what they purchased. When you select 'Reseller' on the Sales/Cash Register screen and Complete the sale you will be prompted to get the reseller certificate or permit number from the customer. As a bonus, though currently available only in California, reseller numbers can be automatically verified over the internet. If your state has an on-line resource for verification let us know and we can see if we can automate this for you. The benefit can be more than just simply verifiying the validity of the reseller, the program can also bring the reseller's business name and address down and add it to the Reseller record automatically.
